In 2024, 100 companies may become participants in the Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Russky Island
Issues of corporate governance and development of Special Administrative Regions (SARs) in Russia were discussed during the session “Islands of Russia. Unique opportunities for cooperation”, which took place on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum with the participation of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC).
First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Ilya Torosov, in his speech, noted the work of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, as the management company of the SAR, and cited statistics: “This year, 45 companies moved to Russky Island. Moreover, these are specific companies with specific jobs and specific taxes - more than 68 jobs and 2.5 billion rubles, which were paid by international companies in 2023 on Russky Island alone, of which 1.6 billion rubles went to the budget of the Primorsky Region. This is a very good result."
A special administrative region on Russky Island in the Primorsky Territory was created in August 2018. Today there are 62 residents with assets of 5 trillion rubles.
