In the 2026/2027 academic year, over 30,000 budget-funded places are available to applicants at universities in the Far Eastern Federal District—the same as last year. In the secondary vocational education system, the number of budget-funded places has increased by more than 1,500, reaching over 44,000. Thus, the state maintains high levels of access to education in the most economically in-demand fields—engineering, technical, medical, agricultural, and IT specialties.
Today, a unified educational ecosystem is emerging in the Far East, uniting schools, colleges, technical schools, universities, research centers, and employers. The region is home to 69 higher education institutions and 332 secondary vocational education institutions, enrolling over 413,600 students. Moreover, educational programs are increasingly being tailored to the specific needs of businesses and large investment projects.
