Tourist development of the Baikal territories should be in harmony with nature and in the interests of people

Discussion on the topic: “Tourist scheme “Baikal”. How to unite the two shores of the sacred lake?” took place at the stand of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic during the VIII Eastern Economic Forum. The tourism scheme is a project for the integrated long-term development of regions, taking into account all the natural, socio-economic, historical, cultural and infrastructural features of the territories with an emphasis on the development of tourism. According to the project developers - the “ProGorod” Company (VEB.RF group) the tourism scheme will help identify growth points, predict changes in tourist flow and economic effects. For example, on Lake Baikal, in addition to the existing types of tourism, there is an opportunity for the development of several other areas, one of them is cultural and educational tourism.
