Entrepreneurs working in the autonomous okrug can receive comprehensive state support by becoming residents of the Chukotka Advanced Special Economic Zone (ASEZ), the Free Port of Vladivostok (FPV), or the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF). The region is the only one in Russia where these three pre-regimes operate simultaneously.

The ASEZ Chukotka Management Company (a subsidiary of the Russian Far East and Arctic Development Corporation) held a series of meetings with businesses and municipalities in remote areas of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. During the trip, the delegation presented the economic regimes of the ASEZ, FPV, and the AZRF to regional entrepreneurs, discussed the implementation of projects with current residents, and also consolidated cooperation in attracting investments to the region with the authorities of the cities of Bilibino and Pevek, as well as the village of Keperveem.

“At meetings with businesses, we talked about a unique opportunity that only Chukotka entrepreneurs have. Investors can choose one of three preferential economic activity regimes, the most suitable for starting or expanding an enterprise. The ASEZ Chukotka extends to the city of Anadyr, the Anadyrsky and Bilibinsky Districts, the FPV operates in the Pevek urban district, and the AZRF - throughout the district. Upon becoming a resident, a company is exempt from a number of taxes - on land, property, and income. They obtain the opportunity to pay reduced insurance premiums, as well as use the legal, informational, and administrative support of the FEDC. In addition, ASEZ and AZRF residents may receive a land plot for their project,” stated Sergei Kolyadko, director of the ASEZ Chukotka Management Company.

Entrepreneurs who have already taken advantage of government support measures actively shared their success stories, expressed new business ideas, and plans for expansion as part of the events. Individual entrepreneur and FPV resident Alexei Korepov launched a poultry farm in the northernmost city of Russia - Pevek. The company supplies eggs at an affordable cost to local kindergartens and schools, and supplies products to shops and shift camps.

“We currently have 1,600 individuals at the livestock farm. We produce 512,000 eggs a year. This year we plan to double the number of poultry and increase production to a million eggs a year,” said Alexei Korepov.

“During the trip, which took place thanks to the governor and the government of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, we visited the cities of Bilibino and Pevek, as well as the village of Keperveem. The development of cooperation to attract investment to the region was discussed with the authorities of settlements. It consists in informing new entrepreneurs on the ground about the current preferential regimes; the presence of a management company that is a full-scale representative office of the FEDC in Chukotka, providing a full range of services and assistance for residents, helping to implement projects from the business planning stage to operation, to develop and scale the business,” stated Sergei Kolyadko.

Under agreements with the FEDC, 83 resident companies operate within the ASEZ, FPV, and AZRF preferential regimes in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Businesses have invested 66.8 billion rubles, creating more than 2,200 jobs. The total cost of the projects is 780.5 billion rubles, and 8,200 jobs are being created. Twenty-nine projects have been fully implemented.
