To sel ect the projects, the regions prepared applications based on 40 criteria: fr om demand among residents to the presence of historical and natural sites, as well as prospects for all-season use.
In the next two years, it is planned to create and develop 118 km of tourist trails: visitor centers, observation platforms, recreation areas and improvement facilities will appear. 1.7 billion rubles have been allocated for the implementation of the projects as part of the Unified Presidential Subsidy. The new trails will allow tourists to discover the volcanoes of Kamchatka, the Shantar Islands, Baikal, national parks and petroglyphs, as well as small towns and ethnographic sites.
