A resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation opened a retail outlet of a well-known ice cream chain in Arkhangelsk

“MINUS 18” company, a resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), opened a store in Arkhangelsk for the well-known Russian franchise "33 Penguins," selling ice cream and cocktails. The brand offers 70 types of ice cream. Customers can also enjoy desserts and lunches, coffee specialties, and ice cream-based drinks. Under an agreement with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), capital investment amounts to approximately 2 million rubles; over 700,000 rubles have been invested to date.

"Being a resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation was a key factor in launching the project. Tax incentives allow us to pay staff a decent salary and maintain affordable prices for premium ice cream made with natural cream. Initial results at “Titan Arena” show high demand even in the off-season, so we plan to open several more locations in Arkhangelsk," said Mikhail Shatko, CEO of “MINUS 18”.

In the Arkhangelsk region, businesses can receive a 75% reimbursement of insurance premiums for 10 years. For the first five years, the corporate income tax rate is 5%, and the corporate property tax rate is 0.1%. The simplified tax system (STS) for "income" is 1%, and the simplified tax system (STS) for "income minus expenses" is 5%, depending on the OKVED (All-Russian Classifier of Economic Activities). Land tax benefits range from 80%, depending on the municipality.
