In Vladivostok, Deputy General Director for Social Development of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), Gasan Gasanbalaev, visited the Pacific State Medical University (PSMU). Thanks to the "Priority 2030. Far East" program, 14 universities in the Far Eastern Federal District have already developed over 250 educational programs, and the number of partners from real-sector companies has reached 370. The student body at participating universities has grown from 27,000 in 2021 to over 68,000 in 2025. Interest in Far Eastern education is also growing among out-of-town and international students: according to the 2025 admissions campaign, 4,770 citizens from other countries were admitted to universities in the Far East. The program places particular emphasis on applied research and the implementation of research findings that have practical economic and social implications for the region. Currently, PSMU is implementing projects in genetics, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, medical robotics, and healthcare digitalization. Key areas include the creation of a robotic pharmacy, the development of a medical genetics center, the implementation of remote patient monitoring systems (including on fishing vessels) and AI-based support for medical decisions, as well as projects using unmanned technologies for the delivery of biomaterials.
