The rate of issuance of "Far Eastern and Arctic mortgages" has returned to the level of 2024

According to the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), more than 143 thousand families and specialists were able to purchase or build their own housing in the Far East and the Arctic using a loan at a preferential rate of 2% per annum and lower. Of these, 131.6 thousand loans were issued to residents of the Far Eastern Federal District, and more than 11.6 thousand loans were provided to residents of the Arctic zone of Russia. The total amount of loans issued exceeded 681 billion rubles; today, the rate of issuance of "Far Eastern and Arctic mortgages" has returned to the 2024 levels. "Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has instructed to maintain the rate at 2% per annum under the “Far Eastern and Arctic Mortgage” program until the end of 2030, and to extend its coverage to certain specialists. The President's instruction must be performed... Far Easterners will be able to continue to use preferential mortgages, improve their housing conditions, and build a house on the hectare they receive," said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev. As Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Elvira Nurgalieva noted: "This month, the Russian Government has increased the level of compensation to banks that issue preferential mortgages. Thus, if the recipient takes out a "Far Eastern and Arctic mortgage" to purchase an apartment in an apartment building between February 7 and August 6, 2025, banks will receive compensation from the state of up to 3%. If the mortgage is issued for the construction of a private home, the compensation will be higher - up to 3.5%.
