According to the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), 117,676 families were able to improve their living conditions or build their own home in the Far East and Arctic with the help of a loan at a preferential rate of 2% per annum or lower. Of these, 111.7 thousand loans were issued to residents of the Far Eastern Federal District, and almost 6 thousand loans were provided to residents of the Arctic zone of Russia. The total amount of loans issued exceeded 540 billion rubles. Director of the Department of Social Projects of the FEDC Sergey Potanin: “On the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of Russia, new categories of citizens are regularly added to the Far Eastern and Arctic Mortgage program. It becomes possible for them to obtain a preferential mortgage loan without restrictions on age, work experience and marital status. Recently, participants in a Special Military Operation (SMO) have also received this opportunity. In the first month after the expansion of the program in June 2024, over 300 SMO participants received preferential mortgage loans. Previously, restrictions were lifted for doctors, teachers, participants in the “Hektar” program, employees of organizations of the military-industrial complex and new residents of the Far East and the Arctic who moved to these regions under labor mobility programs.”
