Yuri Trutnev checked the construction of a new air gate in the capital of Kamchatka
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev was acquainted with the construction of a new air terminal infrastructure at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Yelizovo) International Airport.
“Obviously, construction is moving forward. Everyone is waiting for the end of the construction of the airport. This will require additional capitalization of VEB.DV. Such a decision can only be made by Prime Minister Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin. I asked to prepare such a proposal, and then we will present it to the head of the Government,” said Yury Trutnev.
The decision to build a new terminal was made in 2017. The terminal will increase the airport's capacity, which will help expand the geography of flights and increase the airport's passenger traffic. The construction site has the status of a resident of the ASEZ "Kamchatka", therefore JSC "Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic" is engaged in the creation of external engineering infrastructure and the construction of an automobile access road to the construction site of a new air terminal complex. The creation of the airfield infrastructure should be completed in September 2023.
The total area of the building of the new passenger terminal for domestic and international flights will be more than 50 thousand square meters. A hotel and retail space will be built inside the new passenger terminal. The capacity of the new terminal will be 1145 passengers per hour. The readiness of the new passenger terminal (air terminal complex) is 59.3%. All work is planned to be completed in December 2024.
