Current investment cooperation between Russia and China was discussed at INNOPROM-2023

The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC) took part in the panel discussion "Russian-Chinese trade and investment cooperation in a new era" as part of the VII Russian-Chinese EXPO, which takes place in Yekaterinburg in parallel with INNOPROM-2023 - the main industrial exhibition of the country. The experts discussed the prospects for the development of Russian-Chinese trade and investment cooperation in the industrial sector and the prospects for the production of smart equipment, including in the Far Eastern Advanced Development Territories (ASEZ). The event was organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Foreign Trade Development Bureau under the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. Andrey Sharafutdinov, Managing Director of the FEDC, told the participants of the panel discussion about the features of preferential regimes for doing business in the Far Eastern Federal District and measures to support investors and exports. “During its existence, the Corporation has supported more than 3,500 investment projects totaling nearly $100 billion. Their implementation will create 250,000 new jobs for residents of the Far East, with over 100,000 people already employed. Most of the projects relate to the field of logistics, tourism, and agriculture. Chinese investors are showing interest in many areas of activity, including processing, petrochemicals, and the automotive industry. Moreover, we are developing a special regime that provides for the creation of the most favorable conditions for the implementation, together with partners from friendly countries, of projects for the production of competitive products with high added value, high-tech projects, as well as the creation of conditions for duty-free comfortable trade between Russia and China. We have called this initiative the International Territory of Advanced Development (ITAD), the creation of which is already at the stage of approval of the federal law. We invite Chinese partners to discuss special preferential conditions for locating production facilities and become residents,” Andrey Sharafutdinov said.
