A modern center for training railway workers opened in Vladivostok with funds from the Unified Presidential Subsidy

In Vladivostok, at the City College of Mechanical Engineering and Transport (MET), the material and technical base of the workshop for the “Locomotive Management” competency was updated. The new educational and industrial site was built with funds from the Unified Presidential Subsidy of the Russian Ministry of Eastern Development. In 2023, the college was allocated 8 million rubles for these purposes from federal budget funds. Sergei Skaliy, Deputy General Director of the FEDC for support of investment projects, said that in 2023, 78 workshops with a funding volume of over 500 million rubles were created in the Far East using funds from the Unified Presidential Subsidy. Another 163 workshops will open in 2024. For these purposes, more than 1.2 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget. The task of developing the human resources potential of Russian railways today is becoming especially important in light of the growing importance of eastern logistics directions. According to our data, the Far Eastern Railway is experiencing an increased need for electric locomotive drivers and assistant drivers. I am confident that the workshop created with the support of the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia and the Regional Development Committee for the Far East will improve the quality of training of future drivers.
