From September 1, 2022, educational institutions of secondary vocational education (SVE) of the Far East will begin free education in 21 new educational programs with a total of 509 study places. In total, for the 2022/23 academic year, colleges and technical schools of the Far Eastern Federal District offer applicants 40.6 thousand budget places (excluding secondary vocational education programs at universities).

New programs in Far Eastern colleges are being opened in the interests of large regional investment projects. The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC) actively promotes the opening of new specialties in the SVE segment. The FEDC annually sends expert information to the authorities of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District with a calculation of the staffing needs of employers in the Far East and proposals on the volume and structure of professional training.

Far Eastern enterprises are interested mostly in training specialists in such areas as mechanical engineering, electric power, mining and processing of minerals, construction, transport and logistics.
