Agriculture in the Far Eastern Federal District and the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation: the Federation Council, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and business are working to strengthen support for investors for the sustainable development of the industry

Prospects for the development of agriculture in the Far East and the Arctic were discussed in Vladivostok. The meeting was chaired by Russian Senator - representative of the executive body of state power of Primorsky Krai Alexander Rolik and Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Vitaly Altabaev with the participation of Deputy General Director for Investment Project Support of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) Sergei Scalia, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Primorsky Krai Kirill Khizhinsky, Minister of Agriculture of Primorye Andrei Bronets, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Legislative Assembly Sergei Kuzmenko, deputies of the regional parliament, and heads of enterprises of the agro-industrial complex. The moderator was Deputy Director of the Investment Department of the FEDC Abdurazak Razakov. The event was held as part of the implementation of the instructions of the Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev on organizing a thematic session at the 10th Eastern Economic Forum entitled "Development of Preferential Regimes in the Far East and the Arctic". The participants of the meeting touched upon the issues of providing farmers with seeds, agricultural machinery and support for rice and potato producers, and discussed loan financing for the development of the industry. They also discussed a simplified procedure for the seizure of land plots from persons violating their intended use, land reclamation, legislative support for the activities of scientific organizations to develop solutions to prevent and combat the effects of climate impacts on agriculture, simplification of product exports, regulation of duties and other issues.
