Russian-Indonesian educational dialogue: Indonesian youth learn about educational opportunities in the Russian Far East

In Jakarta, as part of the business program of the international forum "Russia - Indonesia", a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Elvira Nurgalieva and Indonesian students, graduates of Russian universities and representatives of youth professional associations. The event, organized by the “Rossotrudnichestvo” representative office in Indonesia, brought together about 200 participants. Elvira Nurgalieva spoke about the development of the educational system in the Far East and answered questions from the audience during an informal dialogue. Indonesian students showed keen interest in the prospects of education and professional growth in Russian universities; many questions concerned the choice of specialty and career development. They were interested in how one can develop in the scientific field in the Far East, which research areas are the most promising for further professional growth, and at which enterprises foreign students can do practical training. The audience was interested in the infrastructure of Far Eastern university campuses, the organization of student leisure and opportunities for sports. Many asked about the number of foreign students in Far Eastern universities and the specifics of admission for Indonesian citizens.
