Russian travel companies plan to invest in the construction of hotels and glampings in the Kuril Islands

The business mission to Kunashir, which was organized by the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia and the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic (FEDC) together with the government of the Sakhalin region on behalf of the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, is over. Seven large Russian companies and organizations, working in the tourism sector, visited the island and got acquainted with promising sites for the construction of hotel, entertainment complexes and glampings. The main goal of the business mission is to attract new investors to the Kuril Islands, as well as to increase awareness of the business community about the investment opportunities of the territory. For this purpose, the FEDC, together with the Government of the Sakhalin Region, has formed eight investment sites for the implementation of projects in the field of tourism. “The investment proposals are sufficiently developed and meet the interests of both investors and residents of Kunashir. The size of capital investments in projects varies from 200 million to 2 billion rubles. The sites have been presented to investors, and now we are waiting for relevant requests from them - for land, for infrastructure and other measures of state support, in order to begin implementing new projects - said Nikolai Zapryagaev, General Director of the FEDC.
