Such an instruction was given by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far East Federal District Yuri Trutnev to the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the heads of the regions of the Far East following a meeting on the status of educational and patriotic work in the universities of the Far East.

Opening the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister recalled that in March last year, the post of vice-rector for educational work and youth policy was approved in the country's higher educational institutions. “This is an important work that will largely determine the future of our country. Young men and women who study at higher educational institutions today will lead industrial enterprises, companies, authorities tomorrow, will determine the country's policy and its potential,” he said.

“It is necessary to create student patriotic associations in all Far Eastern universities. A person must understand that he has chosen a side. He chose who and with whom he should be,” said Yuri Trutnev.

The Vice Prime Minister focused on two main areas of educational work with young people: “First, work on educating students, young people should be construct around the Special Military Operation. This event determines the attitude to the country, to the President, to the future of our country, determines the attitude to the previous generations of Russians - fathers and grandfathers, who won the freedom and independence of our Motherland. Now the fighters are dying, our guys. No one can remain on the sidelines, be indifferent. Secondly, educational work cannot be pointless. Appeals and slogans will do nothing. It is necessary to make sure that the guys, by their deeds, by their involvement, form their future moral and ethical image.

In March of this year, FEFU students raised the issue of organizing a center for patriotic education of youth on Russky Island before the leadership of the university. Students are ready to involve their peers and schoolchildren in initiative work for the benefit of the country.

Summing up the results of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that it is necessary to strive to ensure that every university graduate becomes a patriot of his country. “If the next stage in the life of a university graduate is to work in European companies or Silicon Valley, then we will not win. They are not with us, and we have strengthened the potential of our opponents, not our country. We need people who are with us, who are not afraid to take responsibility and who root for the future, for the next generation,” summed up Yuri Trutnev.
