The date of the festival was chosen deliberately. In early May, scallops reach the peak of their culinary value and prepare for spawning. This is facilitated by the sea in Vityaz Bay: it begins to warm up, fills with energy, and creates the best conditions for the mollusk's growth.
"At the very first celebration, we announced our intention to make this event a May tradition for our region. So that Primorye residents and visitors could not only observe how scallops are farmed, but also get involved in the process themselves. And now we invite everyone to our first milestone anniversary – five years! During this time, thousands of people have visited the farm, discovered mariculture, and many have even discovered the beauty of picturesque Vityaz Bay," notes the farm's founder, Vasily Grebennikov.
Festival guests will be able to take a tour of the sea garden, learn how shellfish are grown, and plant a scallop on the seabed with their own hands, making a wish. Free shell decorating workshops and large coloring book painting sessions will be held for young participants on the shore. Meanwhile, adults can take part in contests and quizzes.
