A resident of the Free Port of Vladivostok implemented a shrimp harvesting project in Kamchatka

The company "RPK Vitus Bering" in the status of a resident of the free port of Vladivostok (FPV) has implemented an investment project for the extraction of seafood in Kamchatka. The investor completed a major overhaul of the ship "Saint Peter" and re-equipped the ship's factory for the production of frozen fish products. The refurbished domestically built refrigerated seiner trawler is prepared for fishing several types of shrimp and producing products from it.

Irina Shadrina, project manager of the FEDC “Kamchatka”, said, that the repair of the vessel and the reconstruction of its processing facilities were carried out in Russia. Under an agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC), investments in the project exceeded 91 million rubles, 55 new jobs were created. The company plans to harvest and process about 1000 tons of three types of shrimp per year in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk.
