A resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), the company "Russian Iodine", begins production of crystalline iodine in the Arkhangelsk Region. In the fourth quarter of 2024, commissioning work began on the pilot well cluster of the Severodvinskoye field, the first products will be released soon. Under an agreement with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), the investor invested 42.6 million rubles.
At the first stage, the pilot production will produce 4 tons of iodine per year. In the next five years, Russian Iodine plans to reach its design capacity of 120 tons of iodine annually.
According to the company's director, Alexey Izhmyakov, there are very few iodine deposits in Russia, and each of them is unique. One of them is the Severodvinsk iodine water deposit.
