A resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation will begin developing a unique building stone deposit in Karelia in 2026

“Onezhskoye Kareroupravlenie” (“Onezhskoye quarry management”), a resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), will begin developing a block stone quarry at the Keleynoye deposit in the urban-type settlement of Loukhi in the Republic of Karelia in 2026. The company will produce up to 874.3 cubic meters of block stone per year. Under an agreement with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), the investor is investing 18 million rubles in the project.

Anastasia Zhuk, Director of the Investment Project Support Department in the Arctic Zone of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation: "Construction raw material extraction projects reduce the need for imported materials, which significantly optimizes production costs in the northern logistics conditions. Residents of the Arctic Zone preferential regime enjoy preferential tax rates and administrative benefits. The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation supports investment projects at all stages of implementation, helping entrepreneurs resolve all related issues."

Investors in the world's largest preferential zone—the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation—have been provided with favorable conditions for implementing their business ideas. Project investments start from 1 million rubles, and preferential property, land, and profit taxes apply for the first 10 years. A 75% subsidy on insurance premiums for newly created jobs applies for the first 10 years.
