An Arctic Zone resident is developing small-scale aviation infrastructure in Chukotka

Since 2020, “Vertikal 87” company has been implementing a project in the fields of light aviation and transport logistics in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug under an agreement with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), utilizing state support measures. The company—a resident of the Russian Arctic Zone—is currently preparing to expand its business and aircraft fleet.

"Over the course of its operations, the company has established aviation and ground infrastructure in Anadyr, acquired an AS350B3e (H125) helicopter, purchased an An-2 aircraft and specialized equipment, built a hangar, set up an aircraft operating site, and acquired a refueling station," notes Gennady Orlov, General Director of “Vertikal 87”.

"Transport accessibility is a key priority for Arctic development. The arrival of an air carrier in Chukotka will significantly ease the delivery of cargo to remote areas and facilitate the transport of passengers, including those requiring medical care. FEDC will support the resident with all the benefits available under the preferential regime and provide methodological guidance," commented Pavel Bakulin, Director of FEDC “Chukotka”.
