Anastasia Zhuk, Director of the Investment Project Implementation Support Department for the Arctic Zone of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, noted that such projects are a step toward developing a new bioenergy infrastructure.
"Providing regional energy through locally distributed sources is an important task. Wood pellets could become a profitable commodity with stable demand. In forested regions, such as Karelia, their production could also help solve the problem of wood waste management. Thanks to government support, such a socially significant project can be launched even with a small capital investment," added Anastasia Zhuk.
