Resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation opened a new hotel in Murmansk

The “Phoenix Center” company, a resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), opened a new hotel, “Samitel”, in Murmansk under an agreement with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC). The investor invested 38.6 million rubles in the project. The 18-room hotel has been accepting guests since November 1, 2024. Andrey Seryakov, director of “Phoenix Center” LLC: "This is a completely new experience for me. But I am sure that there will be demand for “Samitel”'s services. Every year, the tourist flow to the Murmansk region increases by an average of 200 thousand people, plus many go to the Arctic to work, so Murmansk definitely needs a new hotel." According to Andrey Seryakov, the name of the hotel "Samitel" is derived from the words "Sami" (the self-designation of the Sami - the indigenous people of the Kola Peninsula) and "hotel". Next year, the investor plans to expand the hotel, build a complex of apartments with office space and begin construction of a shopping and entertainment center. Among the support measures provided to residents of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation, the director of the Phoenix Center particularly notes tax benefits and the allocation of land plots for construction without tenders. This allowed the company to start work quickly and efficiently.
