A record for the Far East: 13 new vocational education clusters will begin operating in the district in 2027

In 2027, 13 new secondary vocational education (SVE) clusters will be created in the Far East as part of the "Professionalism" federal project of the Russian Federation's "Education Development" state program. Colleges and technical schools from the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Khabarovsk, Amur Regions, and the Republic of Buryatia have won the grant competition held by the Russian Ministry of Education. This is a new record for the macroregion's secondary vocational education system: previously, the district had received no more than 11 grants through competition. The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) is participating in the implementation of the "Professionalism" project in the Far East.

Gasan Gasanbalaev, Deputy Director General for Social Development at the FEDC, said: "Based on the results of the competitive selection process, educational institutions in the Far East received 13 grants from the federal project 'Professionalism.' The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) demonstrated the highest results, with seven educational institutions receiving support. The new clusters are being created in close cooperation with employers and are focused on the talent needs of key sectors of the Far East economy—manufacturing, transportation, construction, IT, mining, services, and creative industries. This format allows for the training of specialists for specific production tasks and the rapid adaptation of the secondary vocational education system to economic demands."

He added that, based on the competition results, 53 SPO clusters will be operating in the Far East by 2027. Of these, 36 are already operational, four more will open on September 1, 2026, and another 13 in 2027.
