Far East regions will begin implementing five demographic initiatives adopted at the conference in Buryatia

On Friday, June 27, the 10th All-Russian Conference "Demographic Development of the Far East" concluded in Ulan-Ude. The event, which annually brings together experts, representatives of government, science and development institutions, was organized by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia. The results of the foresight sessions were presented at the final plenary session. Five initiatives have already been identified that will move on to the practical implementation stage without waiting for the final resolution. These proposals have received support from the regions of the Far East. Among them: “Mobile teams of doctors” — regular trips of specialists to remote settlements once every 2-3 weeks, which will significantly increase the availability of medical care in rural areas;  “Territory of soberness” – introduction of restrictions on the sale of alcohol: by time and by distance from residential complexes and social facilities;  “New forms of employment in the village” — development of distributed production: from growing medicinal herbs and folk crafts to attracting residents to projects in the IT and creative economy spheres; “Healthy work teams” – regular preventive examinations at enterprises and development of corporate sports; "Sports for the Masses" - support for mass amateur sports, including street football, running and skiing events for teenagers and middle-aged people.
