The development of distributed generation in Asia-Pacific countries was discussed in Bangkok

In Bangkok, as part of the III Asia-Pacific Energy Forum, a panel discussion was held on the topic “Development of distributed generation in remote and isolated areas of the Asia-Pacific region: the role of the state and business”, organized by the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) together with the “Small Energy” Association and “Delovaya Rossiya” LLC.” The session was opened by Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergei Mochalnikov. “We have significant experience in this area and are interested in developing international cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, where this is especially relevant,” said Sergei Mochalnikov. Maxim Gubanov, head of the energy and housing and communal services department of the FEDC, spoke about the interaction between the state and business in the implementation of local energy investment projects in the Far East and the Arctic. The session was moderated by Maxim Zagornov, President of the Small Energy Association, chairman of the relevant subcommittee and business ambassador of Business Russia in the UAE. “We see significant potential in the implementation of distributed generation investment projects in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and wide opportunities for business development. The development of international cooperation in this area allows us to scale up unique technological solutions and reduce the cost of energy for consumers,” summed up Maxim Zagornov. Representatives of Russian energy companies as well as government and business authorities of various Asia-Pacific countries, including the Philippines, Maldives, Malaysia, Indonesia and others, took part in the discussion.
