Work on the reconstruction and expansion of the Korsakov port will begin in 2024
The design of the reconstruction of the hydrotechnical structures of the Korsakov port has been completed. Construction work is scheduled to begin in 2024 after the completion of the state expertise. The implementation of the investment project to modernize the port was considered at a meeting held by Deputy Prime Minister - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.
“Reconstruction of port facilities will significantly increase cargo turnover. After all, the Korsakov port is one of the key links, including for the Northern Sea Route, as well as for ensuring the transit of goods from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. And these are additional jobs in our region and revenues to the budget”, - said the Governor of the Sakhalin Region Valery Limarenko.
