The fiftieth investor has joined the preferential regime in the Kuril Islands

The number of participants in the special preferential regime on the Kuril Islands of the Russian Federation (KIRF) has reached fifty companies. The project company "Scienestech Vostok" became the anniversary resident. It plans to implement a large-scale scientific and technological project in the Kuril Islands – the creation of a digital platform for the advanced biological innovation and optimization laboratory "Abiol" in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and genetic engineering. The investment volume is 800 million rubles, 100 jobs will be created, and the project is expected to be implemented over a ten-year period – from 2026 to 2036.

"The conditions created under the special preferential regime for the Kuril Islands of the Russian Federation (KIRF) are attractive to businesses. The most relevant areas for investors in the Kuril Islands are tourism development, as well as the implementation of technology and IT projects. Efforts to attract investment to the Kuril Islands will continue," said Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.
