Sakhalin State University (SakhSU) summed up the results of the scientific and logistics symposium "SakhalinTech Campus - a platform for new climate technologies and projects". As a result of the reports of the leading oceanographers, seismologists, permafrost scientists, biologists and ecologists of the country, nine in-depth areas of work were identified, which should be included in the list of tasks of scientists of the world-class campus SakhalinTech.
Among the key areas of work for the campus announced by scientists are the assessment of the bioproductivity of the seas, the development of carbon mariculture farms, seismotectonic monitoring for the oil and gas cluster, servicing ships sailing along the NSR with ice information, environmental and geophysical calculations for the construction of a bridge across the Tatar Strait, assessment of permafrost degradation, and even the creation of a Floating University within the campus to attract scientific personnel from all over the country.
