The Russian government has expanded the list of regions in the Far East where large families will be able to receive 1 million rubles to pay off a mortgage loan. The decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This applies to families in which a third or subsequent child was born in 2024.
"At one of the recent Eastern Economic Forums, the possibility of paying 1 million rubles at the birth of a third child was discussed. And such a measure was introduced on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Last year, this support measure was launched as a pilot project in Primorye, and now the Russian Government has expanded it to seven more Far Eastern regions. Improving the quality of life of people, improving the demographic situation and supporting large families in the Far East remains one of the priority tasks in our work,” said Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.
The new support measure will apply to the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and other Far Eastern regions where the total fertility rate for third and subsequent children was below the Far Eastern Federal District average in 2023: in the Kamchatka, Khabarovsk, Amur, Magadan, Sakhalin Regions and the Jewish Autonomous Oblast.
