Vyacheslav Loginov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Development of the Far East and Arctic and State Duma Deputy, noted that the current strategy has resulted in growth in the regional domestic product, investment, and jobs. However, he emphasized that we must not rest on our laurels. Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the development of the Far East a national priority for the entire 21st century. It is essential to ensure the conditions for the further comprehensive development of the macroregion within the framework of the new Strategy.
Oleg Vakhtin, Director of the Department of Investment Development and International Cooperation at the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, emphasized that the draft Strategy is aligned with the country's spatial development strategy and the development directions for priority sectors. The document addresses issues related to the development of cities, key population centers, transport infrastructure, electric power, and gas supply. In developing the Strategy, proposals from Far Eastern Federal District regions, federal executive bodies, scientific and expert organizations, the business community, and relevant parliamentary committees are being considered.
During the discussion, experts noted the high quality of the presented draft Strategy. Vladimir Leksin, Doctor of Economics, Chief Researcher at the Federal Research Center for Informatics and Control of the Russian Academy of Sciences, stated, "The document reflects all the essentials. Everything is in place."
Meeting participants emphasized the key importance of the strategy's focus on human capital development. Experts also proposed incorporating global trends such as technological transformation and the development of artificial intelligence into the region's strategic development planning.
