“The interest of the world community in the Arctic is growing every year. Along with the Arctic countries, an increasing number of countries that do not have direct access to the Arctic Ocean are striving to be present in the region and participate in its development.
The Government of the Russian Federation is doing a lot of work on the socio-economic development of the Arctic, creating conditions beyond the Arctic Circle in which one really wants to live.
These include large investment projects providing high-tech, highly paid jobs, and social infrastructure being built and reconstructed within the framework of a unified subsidy and national projects, and the provision of a hectare of land, and an Arctic mortgage. The Northern Sea Route is being developed. By decision of the President of Russia, master plans for the renovation of Arctic strongholds are being developed.
The forum should help us find new solutions for sustainable development of the Arctic and expand cooperation with partner countries.”
