The government approved long-term plans for the complex development of 16 Far Eastern cities

On instructions from the President of the Russian Federation on the development of cities in the Far East, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin approved long-term plans for the comprehensive socio-economic development of 16 cities in the Amur, Magadan, Primorsky, Khabarovsky and Trans-Baikal Regions, Yakutia, Chukotka and the Jewish Autonomous Region. The implementation of comprehensive development plans will improve the quality of life of people, develop promising sectors of the economy, create new jobs and additional opportunities for self-realization of people, and reveal the unique natural advantages of the regions. In total, 22 plans for the comprehensive development of cities and agglomerations will be implemented in the Far East. These are 11 regional centers, including the city of Korsakov as part of the Yuzhno-Sakhalin agglomeration, 10 cities with a population of over 50 thousand inhabitants, and 2 capitals of the BAM. Namely: Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Chita, Krasnokamensk, Ulan-Ude, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Korsakov, Tynda, Severobaikalsk, Magadan, Anadyr, Yakutsk, Neryungri, Khabarovsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Blagoveshchensk, Svobodny, Belogorsk, Vladivostok, Artem , Bolshoi Kamen, Nakhodka, Ussuriysk, Arsenyev, Birobidzhan. The plans include 875 projects with a total cost of more than 4.4 trillion rubles. The implementation of a number of activities provided for by comprehensive development plans is already underway. New construction projects will be launched in 2024 with the support of the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia, the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC), federal ministries and departments.
