The Eastern Economic Forum 2024 was held in Vladivostok from September 3–6. The campus of the Far Eastern Federal University brought together heads of leading Russian and foreign companies, representatives of government agencies, leading economists and experts. The main theme of the event this year was “Far East 2030. Let’s Join Efforts, Creating Opportunities.” The Forum was organized by the “Roscongress” Foundation.
"The forum not only took place; it was a success. This is evidenced by the number of agreements signed, their amount, and most importantly, the number of decisions made by the President. Almost immediately after the end of the EEF, a strategic session on the socio-economic development of the Far East will be held in Moscow under the leadership of the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin. The proposals, that were made at the Forum and received the President's support, will be discussed there. I would like to say once again: the EEF is not some big, beautiful event for us. For us, the Forum is a purely working tool that creates opportunities for further effective work on the development of the Far East," said Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.
"The Eastern Economic Forum has become a powerful institute for national development in 9 years. The program included more than 120 sessions and round tables, attended by over 700 speakers. More than 300 agreements worth a total of 5.5 trillion rubles were signed at the venue. In the current reality, the EEF, in addition to its main goals, is acquiring another, subtler and no less important meaning. It has become a platform that demonstrates to everyone in the world what the result of cooperation between countries looks like if such cooperation is based on the principles of equality, mutual consideration of interests and a sincere desire for joint creation,” noted Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee.
