The 25th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Moscow. Within the framework of this meeting, the Cooperation Plan of the Russian Far East with the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025-2030 was signed. The signatories were Deputy Head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic Vitaly Altabaev and Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabaev.
The meeting of the commission was chaired by the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Manturov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev.
Among the activities specified in the plan are trade and economic cooperation, which implies an increase in the volume of trade in agricultural products and the development of new investment projects. In the field of education, science and technology, it is planned to implement joint network educational programs and train highly qualified personnel. In addition, the action plan provides for cooperation in the urban development sector and the mining industry. Special attention will be paid to the development of tourism in order to increase the mutual tourist flow between Russia and Uzbekistan.
An agreement on the preparation of this document was reached during the visit of the Russian Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexey Chekunkov to Tashkent in October of this year.
