Almost 700 thousand schoolchildren from all regions of Russia take part in the “Closer to the Far East” Olympiad

The first round of the VII All-Russian meta-subject Olympiad “Closer to the Far East” has ended. A record number of schoolchildren from grades 1 to 11 and 1st and 2nd year students from professional educational organizations (PEO) took part in it - over 689 thousand people from all constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Among them are almost 80 thousand students from the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. The organizers of the “Closer to the Far East” Olympiad are the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and the educational platform Uchi.ru. The project is supported by the “National Priorities” ANO. The “Closer to the Far East” Olympiad is held in three rounds. Round one was held online and ended on January 30. One attempt lasting an hour was given to complete the tasks of the tour. Based on the test results, 30 322 schoolchildren received the right to participate in the second round. Round two will also be held online from March 5 to March 19, 2024. The organizers will post information about the results of the stage on the FEFU website until March 25, 2024. Each participant in the Olympiad will receive an electronic award: a winner’s diploma, a certificate of commendation or a participant’s certificate. Round three will be intramural. The super final of the Olympiad will be held at the Far Eastern Federal University from April 16 to April 22, 2024. Its participants will be students of grades 10–11 and students of 1–2 years of PEO who successfully pass the second round. The results of the Olympiad will be summed up on April 26, 2024 and posted on the FEFU website. The winners of the final stage - graduating students of grades 10 and 11 - will be able to receive up to 10 additional points to their Unified State Examination results upon admission to FEFU and other partner universities of the Olympiad.
