A pilot business model for modernizing local energy is being implemented in Kamchatka

At the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), the government of the Kamchatka Territory and ENELT Group LLC. Deputy General Director of the FEDC Kirill Kamenev, Governor of the Kamchatka Region Vladimir Solodov and General Director of ENELT Group LLC Alexey Kremer attended the ceremony. According to Vladimir Solodov, a feature of the Kamchatka Territory is the absence of a centralized energy infrastructure in most of its territory. Energy supply to industrial consumers and the population is carried out through local energy sources using fuel obtained fr om “northern delivery”. “In our area of responsibility, 46 settlements, wh ere more than 30 thousand people live, including indigenous and small nations of the North, are located in remote and hard-to-reach areas and are provided with electrical and thermal energy from local sources. The total capacity of power plants is 162 MW, boiler houses are 337 Gcal/h with average wear and tear of more than 70%, while the main type of fuel is diesel. The total volume of subsidies for local energy is more than 5 billion rubles per year, which is mostly compensated by the regional budget. Therefore, we are most interested in the transition to modern, efficient and environmentally friendly technologies for local energy supply, especially with the attraction of private investment, and with the support of the FEDC we are ready to act as a pilot region for the implementation of new business models in this area and cooperate with leading companies in the field of autonomous energy, to which the ENELT Group belongs,” said Vladimir Solodov.
