In 2021, at the Eastern Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to launch a large comprehensive program aimed at improving the quality of life in the Far Eastern regions. 25 cities developed master plans, within which they defined their development strategies until 2030. Despite different strategies, the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District are united by one thing – the need to create decent housing conditions and a comfortable urban environment using advanced urban planning solutions.
At the end of December 2023, the Government of the Russian Federation approved long-term plans for the socio-economic development of the Yakutsk and Neryungri urban agglomerations, which were previously presented to the President of Russia.
The master plan of the Yakut agglomeration provides for a change in the structure of the city's economy through the construction of the Lena Bridge and the development of creative industries. The construction of the Lena Bridge will solve the global problem of Yakutia's isolation from the rest of the country, increase transport accessibility and accelerate the turnover of goods and services, and reduce the region's dependence on Severny Zavoz.
The city of Neryungri is the center for managing the development of South Yakutia. It is planned to solve the main problem that residents point out - the low quality of health care services. Reconstruction of three facilities and major repairs of 11 facilities of the Neryungri Central District Hospital will increase the level of public satisfaction with the quality of medical care.
In total, the long-term plan for the comprehensive socio-economic development of the Neryungri urban agglomeration includes 19 projects (43 objects), the implementation of which will require 114 billion rubles. Of these, ten events with a total cost of 6 billion rubles will be implemented in Neryungri in 2024.
