On October 11, the longest tourist trail in the Far East, the 21-kilometer "Health Trail," opened in Ulan-Ude (Verkhnyaya Berezovka microdistrict). The project was implemented by the Government of Buryatia using funds from the Unified Presidential Subsidy of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, with the participation of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC).
Active recreation enthusiasts in Buryatia will have access to equipped trails of varying difficulty levels, from family-friendly routes and inclusive sections for people with limited mobility to active hiking trails. This new tourist attraction will be the first large-scale result of the "Far East Trails" federal project, implemented by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East at the request of Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev. Plans call for the creation of an entire network of such trails in nine regions of the Far East, totaling 124 km.
