On November 1, the 10th International Arctic Legal Forum "Preservation and Sustainable Development of the Arctic: Legal Aspects" began its work in St. Petersburg. It was held to coincide with the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It was in the research of representatives of academic science that the importance of the Arctic zone in ensuring Russia's economic growth was substantiated. Their initiatives served as the basis for the state's economic and business activities in the northern latitudes. Pavel Volkov, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, was invited as an honorary guest. In his welcoming speech at the grand opening, he thanked the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law, represented by the Director of the Institute, Taliya Yarullovna Khabrieva, for their joint work in improving the legislative support for the accelerated socio-economic development of the Arctic territories of the Russian Federation.
