The “Znanie” Asociation is preparing to release a film about “Kyokushinkai” in Russia

The “Znanie” Association has completed filming the documentary "The Strongest Karate" about the development of Kyokushin karate in Russia. The premiere will take place on December 3.

The documentary chronicles the formation and development of Kyokushin karate in our country, from its first underground training sessions in the USSR to the Russian team's undisputed victory at the World Cup in Japan in 2025.

"The Strongest Karate" shows how a unique Kyokushinkai school emerged in the country, combining the traditions of Japanese master Masutatsu Oyama with Russian coaching approaches. Today, this school continues to develop: dozens of centers operate, masters are training a new generation of athletes, and Russian fighters confidently take leading positions in world tournaments.

A separate thread in the film is a fictional reconstruction of a dialogue between an experienced coach and his granddaughter during a children's training session. At the beginning of the story, the girl views the match as a "ordinary tussle," but frame by frame, her perspective changes: she begins to notice discipline, technique, rituals of respect, and the deeper meaning of competition. This plot becomes a metaphor for the social trajectory of karate in Russia—from misunderstanding to recognition of the martial art's cultural and spiritual value.
