The “Public Council” under the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East has outlined new priorities for the development of macro regions

At a meeting of the “Public Council” under the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, new proposals for the Strategy for the Socioeconomic Development of the Far Eastern Federal District until 2030 with a forecast to 2036 were presented.

The initiatives focused on the creation of research and production clusters in the fields of bioeconomics and biomedicine based on marine biota and forest resources, new technologies and materials for the construction of durable roads in the Far North, and mechanisms for increasing the transit potential of the Far Eastern Federal District regions. Proposals were also made prioritizing the modernization of existing regional museums in the Far Eastern Federal District over the creation of branches of federal museums and the construction of new museum complexes.

"Without lively dialogue and feedback from the regions, it's impossible to create a high-level document that considers all possible challenges and proposes measures to overcome them," emphasized Mikhail Kuznetsov, Director of the Federal Autonomous Institution "Vostokgosplan." "Even though our opinions and the public occasionally differ on certain issues, it's in debate that truth is born: compromise solutions make a document thoughtful, well-developed, comprehensive, and structured."
