A new FPV resident will develop a placer gold deposit in Chukotka

The “Volkos” company received the status of a resident of the free port of Vladivostok (FPV) to implement a project for the development of a placer gold deposit in the Chaunsky municipal district of the Chukotka Autonomous Region. The enterprise is planned to be put into operation in 2024, and it will be able to produce more than 20 kg of gold concentrate annually. Under an agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC), the volume of investments will amount to 137.1 million rubles; the funds will be directed to the purchase of machinery, equipment and the construction of modular buildings.

“As part of the agreement with the FEDC, 25 jobs will be created at the new enterprise, and by 2031 the staff will be expanded to 55 employees. Reducing insurance premiums from 30% to 7.6% will allow the resident to save more than 31.7 million rubles over 10 years. The company plans to reinvest the funds in business development and ensuring a competitive level of salaries. In addition, the FPV regime makes it possible not to pay taxes on income, land and property for the first five years. Together, the support measures will help the investor create a sustainable enterprise in a key industry for Chukotka,”- said Pavel Bakulin, Deputy Director of the Chukotka FEDC.
