On Thursday, April 7, a special session focusing on the perspectives and potential for business development in the Kuril Islands, Sakhalin region will be held from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm (Moscow time) in the Conference Hall of the Russian Far East and Arctic Development Corporation. Guests will be admitted from 8:00 am

 

The Government of Sakhalin Region, jointly with the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic and the Russian Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), has developed a new preferential regime for the Kuril Islands, and a set of state support measures applicable to companies that have made the decision to carry out investment projects on the Kuril Islands.

 

The purpose of the event is to introduce potential Russian and foreign investors to the opportunities and potential benefits to be gained from developing businesses in the two sectors that are central to the economy of the Kuril Islands – fishing and tourism. In order to ensure a productive dialogue between the government and the business community, senior officials from the government of Sakhalin Region and federal ministries and bodies, and representatives of international business associations and major Russian and foreign firms have been invited to participate in the event.
