Construction of the shipyard's necessary infrastructure is expected to begin in 2027, following the acquisition of the land plot. The project is expected to require an investment of approximately 27 million rubles. Assembly, finishing, and mechanical workshops will be built on the shore of the Kola Bay, outside the port area. A slipway, a berth wall, and hydraulic infrastructure will be installed for launching vessels. The project is expected to be completed by 2031.
"We expect to carve out a niche in the sports and leisure boat market with high-quality, reliable solutions and products," commented Sergey Shapovalov, CEO of the “Kola Shipyard”, a resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation. "Murmansk has great potential as a city with a developed maritime and river infrastructure. We hope there will always be a stable demand not only for our products but also for our ship repair services."
The entrepreneur also noted that the world's largest preferential regime—the Russian Arctic zone—allows engineering projects and production, which require large initial investments and often cannot be recouped immediately, to be implemented.
