The new resident of the Russian Arctic will be the first in Russia to begin producing valuable bio products from organic waste
The “KMS-Raido” company received resident status in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF) with a project to create an enterprise in Murmansk for the deep processing of organic industrial waste with the subsequent production of valuable bio products. The company also plans to equip Arctic enterprises with appropriate equipment for processing waste on site. Under an agreement with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), 300 million rubles will be invested in the project, and the project’s commissioning is scheduled for 2025.
“As part of the project, litter, manure, fish processing residues and other organic waste from industrial production will be collected at industrial enterprises. Using proprietary technologies and innovative equipment, environmentally friendly, deep processing of waste will be carried out to produce a wide range of biotechnological products that are in steady demand,” said Grigory Safonov, a representative of “KMS-Raido” LLC.
According to him, the resulting biologically active substances can be used to produce a new generation of functional food products in the “superfood” category, as well as in livestock farming as biologically active additives in feed.
A representative of a resident company of the Russian Arctic noted that such a project would be implemented in Russia for the first time. It is based on completely domestic biotechnological equipment using its own technological solutions.
