New Year's gift: young chess players from Torez will spend three weeks at the All-Russian Children's Center "Ocean"

A “chess landing” from Donbass arrived in the Far Eastern capital. Five high school students from the city of Torez (DPR) passed the competitive selection of the Russian Chess Federation and participated in the games of the online league of the ‘FE-Intellect” club. The online tournament was held with the support of the office of the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District and the government of Primorsky Region. Primorsky Region is helping to reconstruct the city of Torez in the Donetsk People's Republic. Attention is paid to not only social infrastructure, delivery of humanitarian aid and provision of medical assistance to the population, but also to the implementation of social projects. One of which was the initiative to popularize chess and strengthen ties within this sport. The importance of such youth exchanges between new regions of the country and Primorsky Region was especially emphasized during a recent trip to Torez by the Governor of the Primorsky Region, Oleg Kozhemyako.
