A new workshop for training specialists in the mining industry has been opened in Bilibino in the interests of a resident of the Chukotka priority development area

A new modern training workshop for training specialists in the "Miner" direction has been opened in the Chukotka North-West Technical School in the city of Bilibino. The workshop was created as part of the implementation of the events of the Social Development Plan for the Economic Growth Centers of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (ChAO) using funds from the Unified Presidential Subsidy of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East with the participation of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC). The total funding for the project amounted to 17 million rubles. 15 people have been enrolled in the training for the profession of a miner at the Chukotka North-West Technical School. The students of the group will have to master such disciplines as drawing, the basics of mining, mine workings, electrical engineering, the basics of materials science, the basics of technical mechanics and metalwork. The educational process includes classes on the performance of works on the mining and fortification of mine workings, as well as the transportation of rock mass. After completing the 10-month training, the students will receive the profession of a 4th-category miner. Director of the Department of Human Resources Development of the Far East Development Company Yuri Prokhorov: “Graduates who have received a miner’s diploma, after acquiring additional practical experience, will be able to get a job at JSC Karalveem Mine.” The enterprise is a resident of the Chukotka Priority Development Area, actively cooperates with the technical school, provides students and teachers with opportunities for practical training, organizes excursions to production facilities, and helps the technical school with samples of equipment for practical classes.
