Norilsk resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation will create a service base for special equipment, heated by a mining farm

The resident of the preferential regime of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), “Engineering and Technical Center” LLC, will build a base for servicing special equipment in Norilsk by 2027. It is planned to use heat from a mining farm, also to be built by 2027, to heat the base. This will compensate for the cost of electricity. Under an agreement with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), the resident will invest 33.2 million rubles in the project. The company will also build a garage for special equipment, a transformer substation, and purchase a front-end loader and equipment for the farm. "The demand for special equipment has grown in Norilsk: the renovation of housing stock, modernization of communications and reconstruction of facilities in the Norilsk industrial region have increased the volume of construction in the city. Specialized equipment services are a seasonal business, and heating in the north of Krasnoyarsk Region is needed 9 months a year. To compensate for electricity costs and make the business more profitable, our own mining farm with a capacity of 150 kW will heat the base," said Vadim Yemelyanov, director of the company.
